  • Age-related factors

As women age, the likelihood of developing breast cancer increases.

  • Genetics-related factors:

Having a family history of breast cancer or carrying certain genetic mutations, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, can heighten risk.

These factors underscore the importance of regular screenings and discussions with healthcare providers.

Factors You Can Control

  • Maintain a Healthy Weight:

Aim for a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and limit processed foods.

  • Stay Active:

Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week. Physical activity not only helps maintain weight but also supports overall health.

  • Avoid Tobacco and Limit Alcohol:

Quit smoking and avoid second-hand smoke. Limit alcohol consumption to reduce breast cancer risk.

While breast cancer cannot always be prevented, lifestyle choices play a crucial role in reducing your risk.

By adopting healthy habits and staying informed about your health, you empower yourself in the fight against breast cancer. Talk to your healthcare provider about your personal risk factors and create a plan for a healthier future.
